Holmes, R. 1959 Stercorarius pomarinus 6 July Barrow, Alaska In this case, The duck was fluttering over the ground in an attempt to fly, and The jaeger was attracted because of an injured bird. After she finally gained her flight, The jaeger flew off and resumed her hunting. (He had simply hovered a foot above her head while she was trying to get off the ground). 7 July Barrow, Alaska Birds of this species were seen here and flew over The Hundreds between APL AATS, Bevok Relay, Worthley's Slough and Elsie Logan. Most were hunting, and 1 here were in pairs. Several nests I Longspurs or some shorebirds have been destroyed in the ridge and it seems that The jaeger, may be the culprit. A snowy Owl has been in The area for, as long as she have spent 10. The majority seen today were along The beach ridge.
