Field Trip Wed. June - 8. 2 miles South East of Pocatello. I drove out beyond Ross Park, on the north east side of the river and R.R. to a point 2 miles from town where I had noticed gopher workings along the R.R. right of way earlier this spring. I placed 14 traps in seven sets at 12 P.M. noon and collected them at 8 P.M. I catched one specimen. Probably immature. But I was curious to note whether or not they were Townsendii. They are not. On my return at noon, I stopped and inquired of the manager of the City Golf Course, if he had any gophers. He reported no gopher mounds whatever on the whole course. It is well sodded with blue grass and would be fine location for gophers. This Golf Course is connected with Ross Park and lies about one mile South east of this
