29 June Barrow, Alaska
was being chased by the other males
who were using this head-bob action.
This motion was seen when the females
were sitting in the water and when
they were standing in the bank. The
female was also seen using this
motion several times. After
about 10 minutes on this part,
two males chased the female
off 1st pool with both following
in pursuit. They landed on another
small pond about 100 yards away.
One male finally succeeded in
driving the other male off (by short
chaser, accompanied with head-bobbing)
and the two frogs fed. Only
other pond there were seen to
repair a pair of females. These lived
in two groups away from each other.
7 July Barrow, Alaska
One male was seen in the pond
at the west edge / The east.
census area. No female was
seen. Two males were seen at
2130 flyers over freshwater lagoon.
They were seen again at 2330
on the pond just west of the lagoon.
