Ashy Storm-Petrel
Oceanadromus homochroa
July 12 San Francisco Bay, Alameda Co. Calif.: I seen < 20 ft.
from boat about 1 mile outside Berkeley marina.
Flushed off the water, whence it flew off in the direction
of the abandoned pier. Clearly a medium-sized
all dark petrel - all dark rump and forked tail -
gestalt of Ashy, not Leach's. Amazing record
inside S.F. Bay.
