July 20 Alvarado salt ponds, Alameda Co., Calif.: 1 with Caspian Tern colony; found here this afternoon by Dick Erickson. Mobbed us, with the Caspian Terns, as if it were defending the colony. Fantastic views as close as 30 ft. Photographs should obviate necessity of further description;
