Remsen, J.V. 1977 Indigo Bunting Passering cyaneg May 23 Furnace Creel Ranch, Inyo Co., Calif.: 1 ♂ - immaculate plumage. S. Gardiff also saw another ♂ (Furnace Cr. Inn) and ♀ with the male I saw on golf course. May 27 East Mojave Desert, San Bernardino Co., Calif.: 1 im. ♂ - Ft. Piute May 28 Furnace Creel Ranch: 1 ♂ May 30 Furnace Creel Ranch: 1 ♂ (+ 5 other birds seen by others) June 14 Pt. Reyes, San Diego Co., Calif.: 1 full-plumaged male singing vigorously along road to Limantour Estero just before it comes out near Olema Marsh - it has been here for weeks, and may be the same bird which was on territory in the exact same spot last spring. June 23 East Mojave Desert: 3 ♂♂ singing along Ft. Piute (2 seen together); also 1 ♀ seen. Males acted very territorially - perhaps nesting.
