Behavior . Very quietly foraging in canopy. Typical warbler foraging motions.
Voice : Silent
Habitat : Row of tall cottonwoods on well-irrigated ranch in middle of sagebrush desert.
How identification was decided - elimination of similar species
not ♀ N.Parula ← not strongly yellow underneath, eyeline not eyeing
not ♀ Black-thr Blue — not olive underneath; 2 wing-bars - no spot; crown bluish, not brownish
not Grace's — no strong yellow throat, breast; no strong spots on sides, flanks; no
noticeable streaks on back.
not ♀ Blackpoll - Bay-breasted — not a large, long-tailed warbler; crown bluish, contrasting with
unstreaked back; strong eyestripe
not Pine — too short and stumpy; eyestripe too prominent; crown bluish not brownish
