Overall appearance and relative size: a small, stumpy, short-tailed warbler
Bill warbler shape, dark
Crown and forehead uniform dull bluish - definitely a bluish tinge. Contrasted with grayer back.

Face very prominent white eye-stripe extending from bill over eye past auriculars. Triangular dark
cheek patch behind eye pointing down, with hypotenuse bordering eye-stripe.
Eye dark
Throat grayish-white. In some lights appeared to have a buffy-yellow tinge
Breast and sides " " Poorly defined streaks
(2-3 darkish ones) on sides of breast.
Belly and flanks: grayish white with perhaps a faint yellowish tinge.
Undertail coverts whitish
Back uniform grayish - no streaks visible
Wings dark, extending past base of tail. Two prominent white wing-bars
Underwings not seen.
Rump not seen
Uppertail coverts not seen
