Remsen, J.V. 1974 LeConte's Thrasher Toxostoma lecontei Feb. 16 Elk Horn Grade Rd., Kern Co., Calif: 3 at the usual spot. Feb. 17 Elk Horn Grade Rd.: 2 - Not singing - surprising since it should be in the middle of their breeding season, and we were there at dawn. Feb. 16 Kamm Rd. exit, I-5, Fresno Co., Calif: we looked over an area of scattered bushes on hills bordering west side of I-5 to see if we could find LeConte's Thrashers, but the area seemed to be heavily disturbed by sheep and motorbikes (in addition to being 100 miles n-of-known range) May 26 Mesquite Springs, Death Valley NM, Inyo Co., Calif: 2 - one begging food from the other - both looked to be adults - courtship feeding or large juvenile?
