Orida June 22 laid out a grid in Orida pasture, 15-foot spacing, 12 rows of 12 traps. Sunny, coolish. Lots of renuga, daisies, and mums. Mustard still blooming but mustard leaves gone. At 11-12 a.m. set rows B, D, F, H, J, and L = 72 traps Ran traps at 2:45 p.m.: 12 mustines, 6 of them dead in traps in spite of shade; temps only 68° and traps at least partly shaded. Tagged & released. Ran traps again at 7 p.m.: 25 mustines (4 of them dead) and 1 serratine. None of the mustines tagged ones. June 23 night clear, slight dew. Ran traps at 7:45 a.m. 42 mustines, 2 renuga, 1 butther. Of the mustines, 5 were tagged ones, 3 dead. Tagged and released all. at 4 p.m. moved traps up to rows K, I, G, E, A 60 = 96 traps. Warm, bright sun. Dressed? the mustines dead in traps and more were trading, not even big males & big females. Spectral traps at June 24 Ran traps at 7:30 a.m.: 51 mustines, nothing else. 12 of them were tagged ones. 13 of the 51 were dead (2 taggers came). Row C inadvertently not set yesterday afternoon. Day hot & sunny. At 8:30 p.m. opened up rows K, I, G, E, C, + A = 72 traps.
