Temp. hot and dry, some traps too hot to hold. Moisture still blooming = 80 traps. June 14. Night clear, calm, warm, no dew. Already hot at 7:45 a.m. alone from traps. Row A 5 moisture, 1 Rattler, 2 mice Row H 0 mice 0 R 2 mice " C 5 " , 1 " , 1 " " I 3 " 0" 2 " " D 1 " , 0" , 5 " " J 0 " 1 2 " " E 5 " , 0" , 3 " " F 5 " , 0" , 2 " Total 24 moisture, 3 Rattler, (9 mice. 6 of the mice died, wet too heavy, mostly smolled ones. 3 of the mice recaptured, not tagged. all 3 Rattlers gain. Traps reset during day (hot). at 4:30 P.M opened some A,C,D,E,F, and I = 60 traps. June 15 night warm, no dew. Hot at 7 a.m. Row A 3 moisture, 3 mice Row E 2 mice , 5 mice Row C 5 moisture, 3 mice Row F 2 mice, 5 mice Row D 1 mice , 5 mice Row I 2 mice, 4 mice Total for 60 traps 15 moisture 25 mice . 6 of the moisture were dead, all in Row A and C. They weighed 34,25,22,20, 15 and 12 g., more breeding. Released all others. Of the 32 mice Tagged so far (on first 2 nights), only 3 were among the 20 caught last night. Smiths Lincoln Index -> 213 mice.
