Put 79 Sherman in Pictur (Orinda) at 5 pm.
Mustard still flowering, grass and weeds still green.
Many miniature runways. Picture is becoming more weedy.
May 2 6:30 am
Trape held 6 Heather, 1 Mule, 1 Rose, 1 Delphina, and
26 miniatures. 12 of these dead in trape. Only one of the
Heather was unbarbed, and it was short. Fetures in the
dead miniature 4,4,6,5. Lute left out.
*** at 7 pm lute held 3 Joseph and 24 miniatures
(12 of them dead).
May 3
Same lute at 7 am held 4 Heather (all previously
trapped) and 1 Mule, and 25 miniatures. Fetures 6,4,
4, + 8. Totte of corpora lutea, > 44 in one ?.
May 4
Set the calhoun line in Tilden Park across from
Carp's mineral springs (120 miniature specials baited
with peanut butter, 2 pm). Weather clear and windy,
green still green, vegetation minimally lush. Totte
of oats 4 to 5 feet tall near lower line, and some
mustard up to 10 feet. Could only find a couple of
the stakes. Totte of cuttings but not many clear
runways.
3 pm.
Also set 85 Sherman along the upper line at
Inspiration Point (mostly along minty way silver rock),
Totte of cuttings, some of the weeds along the road and
furbrows have been sprayed with weed killer. It
seems to have affected the mustard most (controlled stems)
and the thistle slightly, but comium hardly at all. Not
