Col 3
July 1 looked over the Hidden Porks Coliseum area (not
Brant's 20 acre area but the one where March is
working). Lots of microtine signs such as white-washed
runnages, droppings, and gnawed vegetation. Numerous
girdled mustard stalks etc. Saw only 2 microtines
and 1 beetro. Many piles of green (poisoned?) grain
at the base of the young Sequoia trees.
Aug. 30 Put 40 museum speices baited with peanut
butter in the pasture at Orinda (5 P.M.). Numerous
good runnages and droppings. Lots of cover such as
thistle grass and thole weeds (mustard & thistle).
Aug. 31 Many traps sprung empty at 9 A.M. Catch
only 6 mus, all near the Fitzgerald end of the line
