June 7 Hastings Reservation. Weather cool. With John Delfs at Carol set the 3 Colburn lines beginning at 3:30,
[illegible] Lots of meadow runners at the north end of the meadow lines; lots of dragonflies, [illegible], whiteheads,
one runner at station 20 in the oak woodland.
While setting the chaparral line Sam from Touroche and
Benichi were well back in the Administration.
June 8 Night overcast, Scotch mist, grass wet. (Cats
are almost all dried off.) Some of the greenest patches
are places where the boys had started earlier.
[illegible] Run traps beginning at 6 a.m. Oak woodland had
1 Pero maniculatus and 2 spring emity; meadow
had 1 meustus, 1 keithra, 6 Pero maniculatus, and
4 spring emity. Chaparral line had 5 Pero trui,
1 Pero maniculatus, 2 Dipsa, and 7 spring
emitys. Saw 2 or 3 meustus while using the
traps including one coming out onto the road several
times. In addition, 2 were feeding at the back
door of the Davis house & I got the impression that
the meustus peaks in the fields may be past. In
the bunch-grass field going after the oak woodland
line, there is less meustus sign now than there
was during the winter.
During the afternoon installed garbage can screen
collectors along the Oak line; at 4 p.m., checked
the meadow line and it held 1 stubby meustus + [illegible]
Carol & plum ran the chaparral line at 7:30 p.m. and at
