Put out Calhoun trap line in Tidden Park at 3 p.m.
Upper lin only, 60 Museum species fed with peanut butter
Cold + cloudy. Saw a few runways, 2 red-tails, sparrow hawk,
also put about 24 slammers in some corns and below
a football in mustard-thistles where there were a few
runways.
Jan. 9
Night very cold and cloudy. Calhoun line had 6 Rattlers.
8:30 a.m.
The slammers had about 15 Rattlers and 2 Peromyscus momenticus.
The 18 Rattlers or 2 Peromyscuses were released.
Put traps again at 3 p.m. 1 micaster in the Calhoun line,
2 in the live traps, plus some Rattlers in the live traps.
Jan. 10
Heavy rain sometime between midnight and 4 a.m.
Most of the Calhown trap lines were sprung by the rain.
Caught in Calhoun line were 11 Rattlers and 1 Sorex.
The 24 live traps held 1 Pero mouse, and more than 19
Rattlers. Saw sparrow hawk,
Jan. 11
Set traps at 5 p.m., cold + clear, Calhoun line had 1 Mike.
Live traps held 5 mice at 3 Rattlers.
Jan. 12
Setled up traps at 8:30 a.m. Cold + clear, ice on paddles
and heavy frost. Calhoun line had 6 Rattlers. Live traps (24)
held 17 Rattlers and 2 Peromyscus momenticus (one of them
a grey immature).
The 24 live traps are noteworthy; mostly set in pairs
and close together; Jan. 10 caught 1 Pero and 19 Rattlers (all
helft), than on Jan. 11 (picked 2 Pero and 17 Rattlers.
