There was 1/3 inch of rain about early October this year.
Some grass sprouted but there is no sign of it now.
Nov.29 Berkeley. Put 41 Sherman-oats in a pine grove along skyline about 1 mile south of Fish Branch Road at 5 P.m. Rain off and on most of day. Put traps at 7:30 (3 Peromyscus truei) and 10:30 (1 Sorex townsendii).
Nov.30 Checked up traps at 8 a.m. (2 Peromyscus truei and 1 dead Sorex townsendii). All traps were in pine-needle duff.
