1966 Pearson Oct. 12 Overcast. Traps held (Rathtro). Didn't run them in PM. but an owl nest box in a cypress tree about a mile north of the Briosa Valley School. Owner of the ranch says no owl's around, land owned by water company. [=0.8 mi NW Briosa Valley School] Oct. 13 morning clear and dry. One Rathtro in traps. Saw covey of >15 quail on the area. Summary of cotes on the upper Colburn line (60 traps at 20 stakes) - 3 Ratthros, (one each night). Total scat collection = 3 1/2 qtr (>1 qt along upper line) Oct. 19 Put an owl nest box in an oak and one off left in the west farm on the Nunes ranch 2 mi W Briosa Valley School. Both in this farm. In the bowl of the Nunes ranch saw 1 meowl hawk, 2 sparrow hawks, 1 Cooper hawk, blue jays q flockbirds, doves, pigeons, and western larks. Oct 28 Contents of the Oct. 11 scat collection: 22 mice/rats, 10 Ratthros, 2 Vastona, 2 rabbit (1 of hunting), 7 goffer, 4 birds, 3 foxes, 18 herps, some seeds, and several many (dozens) of crickets,
