Sept. 25 Walked on my area in Tilden Park with Brian Fitzgerald. Seed grass cover this year, lots of mouse runways and mouse unburied, and lots of scats of carnivores. Saw a bobcat? bowl, no cats.
July & August had lots of fog with fog flowing over the hilltops, no real hot spells. Ground under the pine grove at the top of my area was quite damp.
Sept. 27 at 4 p.m. put about 25 mouse specials across Kube area in Tilden with Prof. Solador, and about 25 along the stream above the playing field in Tilden. Saw no cats on my area but one near playing field.
Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. traps held (in field) only 1 milks and 1 Burtners. Along the stream 1 Pero calif, 2 trui, and 2 maniculatus.
David Oudogus, a student working as a ranger in Tilden, says that they are again shooting cats "to increase the number of quail".
Sept. 29 Put out the Colburn boxes in Tilden.
