1963 Feb 27 Finished picking up scats on Tilden area. Total for Feb 14-20, 25-27 = 3 qtz. Saw no cats today. march 4 Ovrida bird at 4:30 p.m., set every other station on grid (there were rolled oats). Lots of holes and newraps. Still lots of dead 6'-8' mustard stalks standing, good cover. Half moon = 72 traps march 5 Evening was clear, morning cloudy. Ran traps at 7:30 a.m. 11 mice including 3 dead ones, 13 Rether, and 8 mmz. Left traps set, some stations. at 4 p.m. ran trapshio (Ovrida bird), moved traps to alternate stations, and on the lower rows set an extra trap at the new station (have 2 traps at each station on lower # rows) = 119 traps. Traps held 25 mice/mice, 7 mmz, and 2 Rether. march 6 Evening clear, morning cloudy. At 7:30 a.m. traps held 30 mice/mice, 8 mmz, 22 Rether & the were dead in traps. Left traps set. Shower during day. At 3:30 p.m. traps held 37 mice/mice, 18 mmz, 4 Rether. 4 of the mice/mice died in traps. Moved traps to adjacent stations, have a pair at L1, L3, L5 etc., and singles on upper rows = 119 traps. march 7 Evening cloudy, morning clear. Ran traps at 7:30 a.m. 46 mice/mice, 12 mmz, 17 Rether, and 1 Sorex. Picked up traps.
