1963 Feb.19 Tidden, at 4p.m set colour lines oases from mineral spring (col 3): 120 minutes after meal peanut butter. at 5p.m. set 98 Sherman on Tidden seed (omitted 2 in borbonis). Lots of ravage. Saw no cats, 1 Tavela. Feb.20 at 8 a.m. Lower Colburn had 6 hethers + 2 minks. Upper Colburn had 3 hethers and 5 minks. On the grid: 44 hethers and 12 minks, 16 of the hethers were tagged over plus one returned. 2 of the minks were tagged over, including #690 from Krebs area. Day sunny, some breeze. at 3:30p.m. Lower Colburn had 0 and upper Colburn 2 minotines at 4:30p.m. on the grid 19 minks, 5 hethers, and 1 barbostrinae. Saw (redted) and 4 cats on the area. 3 of them were dark over, 1 yellow. Feb.21 Grid at 8 a.m. had 39 hethers, and 12 minks. 1 of the hethers food in tails. Saw 1 cat on area, a smoky one. It was hunting, saw powers. Lower Colburn had 5 hethers and 4 minks and 1 Tavela. Upper Colburn had 6 hethers and 2 minks. at 4p.m. grid had 23 minks and 6 hethers and colour lines as follows: Lower = 1 mink; upper had 6 minks. Saw 1 quarter snake on area and 1 dark cat. The cat pounced twice in about 5 minutes of watching. also 1 cover of quail on area (about 20 of them). moved grid traps to alternate site = again at any other sites.
