1962 Person Tilden Colburn grid across the creek. A horned owl killed an opossum near the Creek. I have now shot 11 brush rabbit in Eastman's back yard. Feb. 2 Picked up scats in Tilden. Covered all tracks except the ridge and around the sequoias, 2 qts. along track, 1 pt. in fields, and 1/4 qt. on track along grid. Saw (cat (white & black patches) and 1 sparrow hawk. Feb. 5 Finished (picking up) scats on the tracks in Tilden and around the sequoias: 1 qt.. This makes complete coverage on Feb. 2 + 5. Also picked up 1 qt along the upper Colburn line. This hasn't been picked up since the last Colburn trip on Nov. 3. Saw 1 sparrow hawk, mouse. Feb. 6 Driving past Tilden area north Dome Springs saw one cat (almost all white, black & funny spots). Feb. 7 Driving past Tilden area saw 1 cat (dark grey). Feb. 8-9 Lots of rain Feb. 14-15 Still lots of rain Feb. 26 Set Colburn lines in Tilden Park again from cent mound Springs (cat). 3) at 4 P.M. Clear but cold, a few runnops, no cats. Feb. 27 Box trips at 7:30 a.m., clear and cold, much ice and frozen ground. No cats. Lower line both 1 Mouse, (Rat?) , Upper line 1 Sorex. Picked up scats yesterday and today, almost complete coverage, 1 1/2 qts., a few new ones but mostly before last rain.
