1961 also found 1 good large [illegible] under one of the Eucalyptus trees on the Tilden area. Desecrated it with jackknife on the spot: no contusions or obvious hemorrhages, lives OK, lungs hemorrhagic. I believe this is the only dead mouse found this summer & fall except for an old mummying. Fireworks had cat, deer, dog and maybe pft tracks. Lots of the droppings were fresh, although some perhaps as many as 1/2, came from paths not covered for several months or from out in the open. Saw 2 red-tails, no cats, but lots of carnivore droppings. Dec 23 night one past full moon. At 9 a.m. traps held 10 Rattlers, 6 [illegible], 2 Pero moniebatius. Removed all [illegible] pterus Left traps set all day and night Dec 24 at 8 a.m. traps held 5 Rattlers, 9 [illegible], and 3 Pero moniebatius. Removed Rattler's mice, released Pero. Saw tracks of raccoon, cat, dog, deer, no juns. Dec 26 at 4 p.m., set first 8 rows of Tilden Grid = 80 traps. Saw 1 cat. Past 2-3 weeks there have been numerous mole runs crossing the fireworks.
