The rains have probably collapsed many of the
runways, which may be important in changing
domain ranges.
Scattered light showers during the day. Shifted
traps to alternate sites at 4pm = 72 traps.
Nov.30 Rain during the night and still raining A.M.
Ran traps at 7:45 a.m.: 17 Buther, 1 mink, 3 mice.
One of the minks was yesterday's tagged one.
Eight of the Butther were untrapped ones! Maybe the
rain has caused wandering?
Dec.4 Picked up 2 gallons of scat on Tiller area plus
1/2 pint on the grid itself. Saw 3 cats on the area
(white, gray, and black). Since I saw a yellow + white one
on but meat, probably 4 cats or more are hunting on the
area. Also saw a cat near upper end of Oriada -
Instruction point road. Approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of
the scats were out in the grass in areas not covered
before. Covered only a little over half of the firebreak.
Saw deer, dog, cat, and probably fox foot prints in mud.
No skunk or raccoon.
Dec.7 Oriada. Saw cat hunting (still get) in field north
of pasture, and heard bird owl.
Dec 14 While driving past saw 2 cats hunting in
Minuts Triangle in Tiller.
Dec.16 Picked up scats on Tiller area: 3 gallons
on big area and 1 pint on grid proper. Saw
2 cats, 1 red-tail, and 1 sparrow hawk on the area
and 1 cat between Instruction Point and Lane Road.
