Aug 26 Night clear in Orvuda, foggy in Tullers - grass damp, but shoes + pants don't get wet when walking through it. Picked up more scate. Total now from grid and a few hundred yards of it is just 5 gallons of scate. at 8 a.m.: Row A 4 Murtrine 0 mice 0 Ruther Row B 3 " 0 " 1 " Row C 3 " 0 0 Row D 0 " 2 1 Row E 1 " 0 1 Row F 2 0 1 Row H 0 5 0 Row I 1 3 0 Row J 1 2 2 Row K 0-15 2/14 2/8 S = 37 mice Of the 6 tagged mice caught, only 1 mice from last June?. Of the 6 tagged Ruther, 2 were from last June. Picked up traps. All Murtrine caught in past 4 days have been big over > 25 gram, mostly > 35 g. Tullers Orvuda at 5 p.m. set some B,D,F,H,J,L in Orvuda pasture = 72 traps. No x#s sweltling in grass, saw no mice but still droppings and white urine in runways. Boccalia hucker girdled as much as 5 ft from ground. Did not see the forest owls, but saw red-tails and sparrow hawks. Picked up carrion scate. Aug 27 #st morning cloudy but not cold.
