Marshall (1942)
Chloroceryle americana
2. Olomega First seen about Jan.22 the first day I was there about 100 yds. upstream from camp. The stream is & only about 3' wide but has little minnows in it. The kingfisher flew from farther upstream, thru the dense growth along it & perched near me for a while.
Feb.15 Collected Later found to be common around edge of lake where in low lowest branches of very large trees overhanging the lake - shady situation, and close to dense trees.
Chileta A pair noted at river near camp. River about 10-16' wide, and little growth along it where the kingfishers were. None other seen in region altho. I went along all streams looking for Mango Flycatchers.
