Marshall, 1945 Palau Megapodius lafresnaye lower in pitch than preceding. keer, keer, keer Complete call: wwww, v,v,v; We found diggings - i.e. scratched up places on the trail whenever there was a little soil or leaf mold, than we found a lot of tracks in some fine sand in the mouth of a cave. Some of these huge tracks led right into a small hole between sand & rock, but we could see nothing in it. Apparently it was a little tunnel leading to another part of the cave. Koror 19 Nov Saw and shot at 2 - each at both the only 2 places where there was any level ground with soil along this long trip I took along the ridge to the lake. 1st was near top of ridge on a little level place between 2 peaks. Much scratched up leaves on the trail. Missed this one. It didn't call, but flew off with powerful flight. Flushed the second from the ground at the edge of the lake - it hit half way up in a large tree horiz branch and I shot it. After it fell, another,
