Marshall, 1945 Sp Arc. 3. Pair flushed from sm isolated pond - tule NE lake. 30 Sept None in sm ponds by Charam Kanwa. 7 Oct Ponds NE of Lake, tule-fringed. AM - saw 1 flying then 4 went over me at isolated pool & I shot one. The 3 flew past several times. 10 Oct Flock of about 8-10 flew over us in compact formation at N and E. 30 Oct I seen in flight - finally shot it in isolated pond snd lake as it flushed, all alone. During rest of day & covered all the major pools & the Lake & No Mallards. A max. of 12 possible - same as generally for my month. independent counts for Timia. Must go from island to island - same group lots. See cut for dates Timian cut at Hagoi None seen at any time. Spatula rhynchotis clypeata 12 October L. Hagoi, Timian Pair at largest lake - swimming in open water 25 yds from shore. I shot both - genelly skinned 1 for MVZ & the other for USNM. Both very emaciated - probably labourn in day typhoon of last week. Gallinula 26 Oct Timian Maps Dawn clowns of hooting. Decoy to imitation. When light give the rasping note. Abundant in woods.
