Marshall, 1941-2 Passerina cyanea Mt. Lacagnatque Dec.25-Jan.16 Almost always saw a flock of about 7 or 8 in clearing n. hacienda where low brush & ferns. Sometimes in dense trees around edge this clearing. No ad J's seen. Jan 9 & 15 Seen (4 or 5) at both dates, in low bushy trees at edge fields below level of oaks in arid lower tropical. No ad J's seen. Lake Olompa, 200 ft., Dept. San Miguel, El Salvador Feb.23 ♂ 2015 taken in open low legumes (bare stems) in grassy area near lake. Shiny. Flocks usually seen here & elsewhere in grass & corn fields - would flush into brush or [illegible] low leguminous trees. Feb.23 In trees above a dry wash flowing leading toward L. from the Colinas was flock birds high in foliage, foraging on berries very active, quick movements, & rapid flights chasing each other thru treetops. Shot one & was this sp. Didn't skin. I was not near open grassland. Los Esmeriles March 16 Flock in gulley by camp about 6 or 8 in bushes. Saw ad J, shot in for ident, not saved. March 23 ♂ 2155 taken am. in brush in gulley (where water) in cleared area. About 5 ad J's seen in flock, none's.
