Marshall, 1941-2 Setophaga picta Mt. Cacaguatque Dec.25-Jan.16 This and Dendroica gracies th. only warblers which stayed on their territories - usually found in same area day after day. Widely spaced in oak forests - almost never 2 in earshot at same time. (Sometimes 2 together, however). Forage very high in trees - usually large oaks & call about every 10-15 second, with very loud shrill call like miniature flicker. Hop gracefully around branches - forage often last in & tall dead snags in open. Only in layoaks & adjacent tall snags. Los Esquiles March 13 2 definitely seen heard in cloud forest - song a trill - uniform - quality of D. andulorii was stalking solitaire so didn't shoot. Saw whitening patch - will check up on song - perhaps coincidence: myidornis present? March No - song that & Myiodorns. ?Setophaga??
