Marshall, 1942 Diglossa barbiflula Los Encorniles March 15 On edge slide in steep cloud forest hill - in some dense bushes (at edge) in am. coll. 2088. There were Chlorospingus around & I couldn't separate the call of the 2 sp. nor tell whether anymore Diglossa - I shot another bird of unknown sp. also squeaking but couldn't find. This species was only 5' from gnd. in bushes. In an open bushy area within cloud forest. March 17 3 seen today - all in brushy areas near edge cloud forest - 2117 at summit divide in short tree left where brush being cleared; another shot at 3 ft above gnd in brush edge cloud forest with warblers & Brush-tanagers which came to my imitated owl calls & squeaks. 2118 taken from brush edge sm cornfield between 1st & 2nd cloud forests - it was perched horiz & warbler (others if worked thru foliage ~ warbles too) & was giving a call like a sparrow chip but I didn't recall the sparrow before I had lost this impression of the call. All 3 - saw no- others - but could have been in flocks - always Chlorospingus around to confuse things - they have a different call every time heard.
