Marshall, 1942 Melanotis hypoleucus 102 Ess miles. March 9 2040 singing in brush of brush patch at our house (cleared hillside). Short song- not like mocker - a few whistle & too-too-too-too (all same pitch at end.) sat still - bent over like catbird. March 16 2048 (fel) same sit. as above - interior of brush. March 16 Singing all day in brushes around camp. Good song, varied phrases, but each song short. March 17 2 p. at summit divide - close to each other - conspic- full song, flying around, came readily to squeaks.
