March 8 1934 taken from little lone cypress
above a patch of brush in cleared
area (next to our house). Was with 5 or 6
Cissilopha melanoganea which were down
in the brush. Its call was not familiar
but was resolvable into the Redtailed
Hawk call of frontalis - 2-300 yards
away from forest!

April! Common in pines where behaved more
as would expect this sp. - climbing around
trunk upward on twigs of pines etc -
calls v. Took 8's 2243 & 2244.
[Stirt's specimen came from brush in
canyon not near cloud forest.].
