Dec. 25-Jan. 16 common in firica where foraged
from lower parts of shade trees. Often
with warbler flocks. Many Empidonces
in groves of small oaks on east ridge.
The whist of hammondi the most
frequent note - another heard -
pires (least flycatcher?) but not coll.
Empidonaces common in mixed flics
warblers & tanagers along summit.
Jan. 10 One taken at dusk in humid type
brush (look like willows thickets) on
west summit.

March 23 ♀ 2148 taken from half-way up cloud forest
tree - giving "whist" note - with E. flavescens.
Many heard today, came to owl etc-
common high in trees along edge cloud forest
& in 2nd growth area. Heard one give
peet, peet, peet-trick note.
March 24 ♀ 2163 taken from near top oak edge cloud forest
calling.
March 25 2168 & 2172 attracted to owl - one in pine on
2nd growth hill, other in open cloud forest or edge slope
-- Very common. esp. in young pines of thin woods
around edges of cloud forest.
