Dec 25-Jan 16 fairly common in finca, clearing near woods where snags standing and in partly cleared groves of large oaks.
Often high on snags or trees - sometimes lower - even on coffee bushes. Call the pen pen pen (French) Nuttalloris but more of a whistle - easily imitated & birds would answer promptly, but not come closer. Calling a great deal at dusk from snags in finca.
Found in a finca in canyon at 3500 ft. - apparently well-distributed in wooded portion of mt. but widely scattered - individuals far apart (beyond hearing distance). Crest rather conspicuous in life.

Mar 12 One heard & watched foraging in middle parts oaks or tillado below cloud foot.
Apr 6 Common in pines down on W slope at 5000 ft. (not higher.)
