Marshall, 194 1-2 Magiochanes cinereus Dec. 24 2nd Caca-Gotera, 700 ft., Dept. Morazan, El Salvador. Coll. ♂ 1588 with slingshot from bush under trees along stream. Dec-Jan. 1942 Several heard & seen along road to Gotera in afternoon when we were moving camp from Cacaquique.' Fairly common - canary-like trill heard every 100 yds. Lake Olomega, 200 ft., Dept. San Miguel, El Salvador. Feb. 24 In evening a little after sunset I was hiking up a long wooded canyon to owl hunt & heard many of these birds - always 2 together, then another 2 in the next 50-75 yards - at this time of evening the only bird calling conspicuous whereas had been overlooked in daytime hunting prior to this. Canary-like trill diagnostic altho similar to that of Tyrannus melancholicus is higher & more tinkling. Were very active - calling & making forage flights from high in trees - chasing each other around.
