I had heard the "pil-pil-pil" notes just prior to seeing the bird - perched upright. Shot it with full load 6's by mistake. Los Esmeriles April 4 J 2258 taken from top dead tree on ridge-edge cloud forest. No calls. April 6 Q 2259 taken from top w slope high on exposed twig of large pine - open pine & grassland. No calls.
