Dec 25-Jan 16 Abundant in dense groves of moderate sized oaks as on flanks of east ridge where pairs or groups of 4 or 5 seen & always giving high shrill creeper-like squeals (but very loud). Could sometimes attract by imitation of call. Jan 2 (see pg. 10 gent out) a pair - chasing each other around. Also found in finca & around edges of fincas & in dense stands of giant oaks. Worked high in oaks & on small branches- flicked wings
March 25 Los Osesmiles
& 2175 taken as worked up slender young oak in cloud forest.
March 30 2212 & taken in cloud forest - was giving char. high squealing call - working ~ above only on slender young trees which have no marks of orchids to interfere with climbing up trunk. Have heard the calls frequently from trees at edge of cloud forest in certain place near camp - every night.
