Marshall, 1942 Xiphocolaptes promeropirhynchus Mt Caraguatipe Dec. 25 - Jan 6 Common in denser all types oak growth and less so in finer shade trees. Sometimes seen on ground at base tree. Works in typical creeper fashion - flicks wings - doesn't spiral regularly around trunk.
