Dayot Marshall, 1942 Dryobates villosus Los Eesmiles Marshall ♀ taken from large dead orchid oak at edge cloud forest (brush beyond) - right next to another (♂?) prob. a pair. Working on trunk among epiphytes. Had heard "pic" call-(♂ trill from camp) March 13 ♂ 2071 taken as drummed-very short, light roll-high on dead branch(west) of orchid oak at edge cloud forest where " "not as dense. Others drumming in vicinity - ♀"
