Marshall, 1941-2 Ceophloerus lineatus mt. Cacagnatique Dec 25-Jan 16 Common in finca & in oaks being cleared for finca - Almost always found with large mixed flocks of jays & orioles. On Jan 3 there were 5 or 6 in the same flock - on this day, also one ?/670 taken from low dead oak on ridge where very scrubby oak growth. Jan 16 am - one watched drumming on finca shade tree at camp - long rolling drum. Usually more than one seen at a time - usually 3 or 4. Work in finca shade trees - not seen on down stuff. Calls - 1 a flicker-like 'wick-wick-wick' - but louder.
