Marshall, 1941-2 Ambacorynelus prasinus Mt. Cacaguigw dec 25-junk not common, but groups of 5-6 seen every time I passed certain spots in the finca - where would be with mixed flocks of jay, crides, etc - just 2 of these groups in finca & these are the groups from which specimens taken. Jan 15 one heard in dense oaks at top east peak giving unusual clear notes. Other note usually heard: a low tone like blowing into a bottle. Very hard to see when perch - blend with foliage & stay very still. fly out of back side of trees. Seen usually in upper part of trees & all except once (Jan 15) in oak finca. Perch with bill horiz., body bent forward, tail drooping. Los Eseniles March 14 2076 coll. M.H. in dense cloud forest. * * * heard almost every day & seen occasionally - in groups 3 or more - gt. variety calls - in cloud forest or edges thereof. Maru 24 f 2162 taken 'in cloud forest. These birds work high in trees - much noise & come around & squawk when I give owl calls.
