Marshall, 1941-2 Trogon elegans Mt. Cacaguatigue Dec 30 harsh calls heard in ravine in oak growth on east slope & saw a pair & collected as foraged in low bushes & fallen branches. Jan 15 One shot at in dense oaks on top east peak. Perch in typical trogon posture: tail vertically down body almost upright sit very still except short rapid flights with loud wing-beats.
