Dec 26 '41 ♂ 1605 taken from high in pine in frica. Came readily to imitated whistles. Called incessantly just after dark. Eye-shine (shot at long range) yellow.

Summary - occasional in frica - large foraging area so not called up in same spots on different occasions. Perch high in frica shade tree - hard to shine unless at long range. Call an incessant long succession of staccato measured whistles, with slight inflection - rapid but steady - quint, quint, quint, etc. When attracted close, or when starting to loot, would be gruff & unmusical.
