March 8 heard & attracted to us far down
on a slope - no forest - all cleared -
apparently lived in little group remaining
pines & fruit trees around the farm house.
March 1 One heard in evening in oaks across cleared
March 2 called up in daytime - called from lg.
oaks left in 2nd growth area.
March 24 Pair calls very early in evening when still light,
Later answer only once & don't come in.
Finally got a 9 2145 on next ridge in
a little remaining grove pines. High note -
am no longer sure about difference in pitch
being conf with set. (Young out by last wk
W slope Los Esermiles)
March 31 Very common in the Pinos coerags
belt - several pairs heard & 2279,2225
taken when they came to my imitated
Cryptogam notes. Perched in young pines
& low in the oak where I was trying
to sleep.

April 6 heard in Pines in evening.
