Altho large, very hard to see in oaks because will sit very still - also slips thru foliage without moving tail much - so no part of the bird shows - almost cunning at concealment. Jan 10 & 1727 in deep virgin oaks on East end of mt. Again well concealed all the time that moving thru foliage - keeps tail along limbs? Coml: - in deep oak woods - 1 skin?, 1 skeleton? Lake Olomega Common in mixed growth. V. de Santa Ana - common in fringe. at camp, one of always called from cypress hedges - succession of 6-7 single notes at same pitch. Chilate - pairs along streams in Balsams.
