Specimen taken one evening in finca - I had followed its call for about ½ mi - very loud. Finally found the bird scrumping over leaves on ground. Then I knew what the calls were which I had heard daily from dense high growth in canyons & borders of cloud forest. Very loud whistle, hi, hi, hi, hi.
4 long whistles each higher in pitch, then 3 phases descending 1st 2 of 2 syll, 2nd higher.
