Marshall, 1942 Geranoospiza nigra Lake Oronoga Jan 24 & 1786 (parakeet in storm) shot by Stinton at edge clearing in jungle at near outlet Rio San Miguel. Feb 24 One seen in large tree overhead in grove near edge lake & hacienda. Very sure. Long slender red legs conspicuous & diagnostic. Didn't have gun. It gave a call like a red-tail only shorter & not as loud-very distinctive in char. Presently flew & beat around over field along edge to us in large circles about 30 yds. above grd. Wings very broad - floppy sort of flight, not boignant - very slow.
