Marshall, 1942 Buteo swainsoni Los Escamiles prob. this sp. (asquenas) March 15 saw about a doz. or more soaring s-e , turning E above s. peak - then mist at about 10 am. No flapping - wings semi-beat-sharp : March28 Especially large numbers today -3 groups of about 50 each in late afternoon -circling + rising, then coming off to s.e.! Volcan de Santa Ana Large flocks seen almost daily - often came low enough to feed on cicadas & grasshoppers.
