Marshall, 1942 Dendrocygna autumnalis Lake Okomega Specimens taken by Chico Stinton & Gale from flocks flying over labyrinths in lake. 2 skins were eaten by dog, so now only skeletons. Feb 15 Abundant in NW part of lake. 2 mins. Flocks of 50-75 seen on water - massed close together, flew at st distance. Other flocks of 20 or more, 2's & 3's in flight - circling around lake - fly 100' up or so. Always give high musical piping notes. Fly in flight, look very long-winged, slower strokes & slower flight than other ducks. - Heard in flight (flocks giving piping calls) on every moonlit night - flying high over lake and over (and around) lake. Not paired at his season
