Marshall, 1942 25. General Rec't Jan. 13 Mt. Cacaguajine, Dept. Morazan, El Salvador. trail into canyon on east-facing slope then this humid brush - many wrens (Thryothorus), s-b. thrushes, Turdus grayi, warblers. On way back thru finca ran into mixed flock woodpeckers, toucans, woodpeckers, tanagers, etc. Jan 14. am. Early: got a flock of warblers, orioles tanagers saltators around the stuffed owl. Hunted thru finca after breakfast - got a flock of Cissilophs around owl, then in attempting to attract birds from a flock by giving Otus. trichopsis hoots, called up a pair & call, the low-pitched ??. In the high dense brush & vine growth near the top of the ridge far to west where high & more humid got flock of birds around stuffed owl (in bush). Heard one bird - sounded like chat singing, a vireo, many Tolvie & Preolated Warblers', Thryothorus modestus & Hylocharis lancotius & a Flycatcher (# 1754) Birds didn't come out into view very well. Heard whining calls of Atlapetes? in brush. Later got flock Cissilophs around owl. Jan 15 Hunted about 3000 ft down the south
